Chris is Home!!

Chris got to come home from the hospital today about noon. She is doing so much better than she was yesterday. she was having a really rough time with pain and nausea. They finally found a combination of medication that got rid of the nausea and relieved the pain and 15 minutes later she was sitting up in bed and half an hour later she was taking a shower and going for a walk. Thank God she is so much better. I can't say it enough times, but thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for her.

Here are a few more photos of the painted Quarter Horses in Amarillo.

We will be leaving Amarillo on Sunday and head to Wichita, Ks to see one of our other daughters, Teri and her husband Lynnie and kids. We will stay overnight in Wichita and head on home to Garnett on Monday. Then back to work on Tuesday..I am definitely counting the days now...125 days..yippee

Well, that's all for today. I will try to see everyone on chat tomorrow night!

Just a few Photos from our Trip

Chris is doing much better today. She has been up in a chair and has been walking in the hall. She is still in a lot of pain and pretty nauseous but her color is much better. Her heart rate was really low and they were kind of concerned earlier today, but it is better tonight.

I decided to add some photos from our trip Sunday from home to Amarillo. Nothing great, but here they are...

We passed this truck hauling a bunch of classic cars..they were pretty neat to see.

Here is the Wind Farm in Weatherford, OK. There were hundreds of these. Pretty awesome.

Also, in Groom, Tx we passed this cross. It is the 2nd largest cross in the Northern Hemisphere. You can tell it is large by looking at the scale of the house in the background and the business next to it.

This is a photo of a painted Quarter Horses that are all over Amarillo. This one is at Fort Amarillo RV Resort. The resort is pretty nice but the sites are pretty close and not much shade. The facilities are nice though. Also, Lizzie Mae's Gift Shop is worth the stop. You will spend more there than you do on your site..lol

This photo is of the Clubhouse at Oasis RV Resort in Amarillo. The clubhouse has 2--50" plasma TV's and a 100" theater screen for movies.

Also has Shuffleboard, Concessions, and a Book Exchange Library.

It is pretty new so there are very few trees but all sites are concrete and guaranteed to be level. They are also all laid out so that if you put your awing out in the afternoon you will have shade. Prices weren't too bad either. 32.00 a night but if you stay 2 - 6 nights it is 25.00. Monthly rate is $475 but that includes all utilities and wi-fi, cable, and free laundry facilities. They sell propane on site. Very nice place.

Here is a photo of The Cadillac Ranch just west of Amarillo on I-40. Can't see them really very good but there are 10 Cadillacs buried in the ground. People stop and take photos all the time. The man that did this was a little eccentric

Well, that's all I have for today. I want to get some photos of some of the road signs here in Amarillo. A man made all these signs and they are pretty weird. Here is a couple of links for those. There are many more than these but haven't found them yet.

Hope you get some enjoyment from all these photos..maybe it will make you chuckle a bit.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers for Chris...

Christie's Surgery is Over

Hey all. Just wanted to update everyone that Chris' surgery is finally over. She went to pre-op and 11:15am and they finally took her to her room about 3:45p.

The Dr called down to us at halfway through her surgery to tell us that the tumor was not cancer..thank god! He came down to the waiting area about 2 and told us that the surgery went well and there was little bleeding. He did tell us that she had endometriosis really really bad so he had to do a full hysterectomy and take both ovaries. The endometriosis had passed through the wall and had started in her colon. He will not do any type of hormone therapy for at least 2 months so that it can heal in the colon and go away.

She was really out of it all day and slept most of it. Our son in law, Dusty is staying with her tonight, so Mac and I went back to their house to try to get some rest. We will relieve him in the morning.

Well, I need to get off and get to bed. Just wanted to update everyone that the surgery was successful and no Cancer.

Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers! You guys are the best!!

Try to catch you in chat tomorrow night.

Off To Amarillo

Well we will be off to Amarillo, Tx tomorrow morning. One of our daughters will be having surgery and we want to be there with her and our son in law. We will be gone until Sunday, August 31st unless there are any complications. Hopefully she will do fine. Chris just turned 33 in July and is very outgoing so she should bounce back pretty good.

This is their house in Amarillo.

This is Chris

And this is Dusty and Chris at Texas Motor Speedway with us a couple of years ago.

Our trip will take us about 8-8 1/2 hours to get there. We will be stopping in Oklahoma City at Camping World to pick up a few things we are needing for our RV. Probably more than we need, but that usually happens when we go there. lol

We are still slowly sorting a packing things up. I have finally decided that I am not going to be able to keep all of this stuff, so I am packing more and more to sell. I just seems kinda weird that it took us all these years to accumulate all these things and only a couple of months to get rid of them.

Here are a few more photos of some of our other grandkids...

This is Morrissey...

This is Jordan and date at Prom this year

And this last one was taken a few months ago..but this is Mac with our great granddaughter, Jaelynn...trying to nap

Well have a safe one everybody. I will keep you all posted on Chris' condition. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...you are the best!!

Dreaming of our RV

We will be going to a Fall RV show at the Kansas Speedway September 13-14th. We hope they have another Augusta for us to look at again.

We are looking at a Heartland Landmark Augusta 5th wheel. We love the floorplan and the tons of storage. I think I am in love with the kitchen.

Has great counter space and residential size cabinets. I'm not crazy about the furniture be we are thinking about buying it without sofa and recliners and putting in what we want. Here's a couple photos of the kitchen....love it! The photos don't show it, but there is a corian top for the stove also..so there is tons of counter space.

and here's a link to some more photos.

Here are some photos of some of our other grandkids. This is Kami. She will be a Junior at Ft Hays State this year. We are so proud of her.

This is a photo of Ryan, Jaden and Samantha.

Here is Kyle.

And here are their parents. Lynnie and Teri. They live in Kingman, KS.

Lynnie works for a Gas Company and Teri is a Para at the Elementary school in Kingman.

I have found the number of a few Estate Sale Companies and will try calling them sometime this week to see what services they offer. I have been told that they will come and pick up everything and even price it and then they take a percentage of the sales. That would be so much easier on me...lol

I am amazed everyday at all the things we have accumulated over the years. There are things in the basement that are still in boxes that have never been opened since we moved into this house in 1993..ya think I could get rid of those??

Here is another tile...

and another image ready to cut.

Well it is time to get off here and get ready for another work day...I'll be so happy when I don't have to say that anymore!

Sorting and Vinyls

Not much happening this week. Lots of work and sinus headaches. No fun.

Our daughter that lives in Amarillo, TX is going to have major surgery the end of the month and we will be traveling there to be with her and her husband, and to help her when she gets home from the hospital. Send some thoughts and prayers her way.

It rained all day Saturday and with a sinus migraine, the rain made it more depressing. Had Mac go and do mom's grocery shopping for her. He is such a nice guy....

Here's a photo out our front door. Pretty dreary.

Sunday was a day of catch up. Did laundry, and sorted through some more stuff to get rid of. I'm not sure I'll ever get all this stuff gone through. I never realized that we had so much stuff in house. I think I'm gonna make a list of things we want to keep for the RV and just shut my eyes and put everything else in boxes to get rid of. This is taking a lot longer than I thought it would.
Sunday we got up late and watched the NASCAR race. I sat in front of the TV and worked on some vinyl projects while the race was on. I haven't gotten them cut but will show some photos of what they will look like.

I'll post more photos when I get them cut and on the signs or tiles.

We were too lazy to make supper, so I just cooked some Zucchini and we had that.

Well it's about time to get things together for work tomorrow.

Working on Vinyl Project

Just a short note today. I worked on a project for our spare tire cover for our RV. Dee and I chatted about it last night. Below is what it will look like after I adhere it to the cover. It is about 22-1/2" wide and 17-1/2" tall.
Well, that's it for today..too tired from having my granddaughters last night and all day today.

Taking the girls shopping...

Man am I tired...taking those 3 girls shopping is like running a marathon. Whew..anyhow we got all their school supplies purchased. I can't believe how expensive those things are now. We bought everyhing on sale and still spent about $130. 00 for pencils, paper notebooks, and etc.

We went out to lunch. Haven't taken them to lunch for awhile and it was fun. When we got home we sorted everything so they all could put their stuff in their new backpacks. I could barely see the family room floor. lol

Then we settled in and watched a movie. It was the Spiderwick Chronicles. It is supposed to be a family film, but it had a little more violence in it than I thought.

The girls are spending the night with us tonight and they are going to help me pack up some things in my office tomorrow. It's been nice spending time with them today.

I have enclosed some more photos of the vinyl projects that I make. Hope you like them.

These photos are for Jenny..Here are a few interior views of the TT we have now and are getting ready to put on Craig's List after we use it to go to the NASCAR races in Kansas City in September.

Well, I'm going to get off here and jump on the chat for awhile before going to bed.

It's Friday

Well it's Friday and 2 whole days off. Yea! I'm going to take 3 of my granddaughters school shopping. Decided to buy them their school supplies this year.

This is Justyce.

This is Glori
And here's another one of Natalie.

Saturday and Sunday I will go back to packing and sorting. Just about ready to paint another room...

Here are some of the tiles that I make with the vinyl lettering. I will try to post more projects when I have time.

Well that's about all for today.
