Saturday July 17, 2010—Nashville, TN

I am going to be posting several posts to catch up on our travels through TN and back home.

Saturday was our last day in Nashville. We started out the day moderating a Session on Full timing with friends Marvin & Karen Osborne. The session was 2 hours long and we could of went on for another hour. It had a very good turn out.

After the session, we took a ride around the park and started getting things ready to travel on Sunday.

We attended a catered dinner by Heartland and Jim Beletti gave away a lot of door prizes. Every couple won something and some won more than one…He even gave away 3--32” TV’s.

After the dinner and Door Prizes, we were entertained by The Shotgun Red Band….very very good!

Catching Up…

100_2817

I have so much to write about and lots of photos but I have to wait until we get somewhere with wifi so I don’t use up so much of my aircard…

Just so you all know, we had a wonderful time in TN with Lisa and Tony and will write all about it once we get back to KS. They were so nice to take us on a tour of their own little piece of heaven in TN…the scenery was awesome, but the company was the BEST!!

We arrived at Tom Sawyer RV Park today. They have free wifi but I cannot stay connected so had to go back to the trusty aircard. We will be in Ozark, MO tomorrow for the night…hmmm…I wonder if there will be a trip to Lambert’s in the making since we will be parked right behind the restaurant at the Stage Stop RV Park. The plan is to be back in KS on Friday if all goes well.

We are also planning on meeting up with Randy & Terry Guiler on Monday in Lawrence for Breakfast on their trip back home from Fort Riley.

Hopefully, that will at least give you an update on where we are and our next destinations.

50’s & 60’s DooWop & Food…

Wednesday we got up and headed out to the grocery store for a few items that we needed for the cookout for the afternoon…

We had Hamburgers and side dishes at our RV with Kevin & Arlene and Bill & Barb. We had a great time visiting and our old friends Froggy Mac & Chicky Nette even joined in to help…They supervised Mac’s cooking….

After the cookout we headed to the Hall to watch Kenny & the Krooner’s 50’s & 60’s Doo Wop Show. They were pretty good with the exception of a couple songs.

I think there were about 89 people from Heartland’s group that went.

Thursday we were up and took some things down to the Marketplace that we wanted to get rid of…I took some jewelry that I had made and never wear…I have sold all but 2 bracelets that I took down there.

We had to get back to the RV so I could get my Dark Chocolate Fudge Raspberry Gooey Butter Cake made for the Pot Luck, but we decided to take a drive around the park to see just how many Heartland RV’s are here…there are 120…wow!  Here are just a few…

We are having dinner today again with Kevin & Arlene and Barb & Bill…Arlene was going to make Pulled Pork so I said that I would make Potato Salad…We have to have it early because we are going to the Grand Old Opry at the Ryman Auditorium tonight. The Grand Old Opry Building is still not repaired from the floods yet but should be open in about 80 days the sign said.

Stay tuned to what happens next…

Nashville and Friends

We left Sikeston on Monday about 9:30 headed to Nashville to see friends and attend the Heartland Owners Rally at the KOA.

The trip was pretty un-eventful…just lots of driving for Mac. The scenery was very pretty….

Border Patrol…uh oh….

Thank goodness we packed our Passports..we didn’t have any problem except…

they took Mac’s shoes and provided him with a pair of overalls.. .LOL......LISA…you forgot to mention this!!!

We passed this Bighorn…wonder if they are headed to the Rally.

We finally arrived at the KOA and saw our good friends, Kevin & Arlene’s RV parked next to where we will be parked…and Arlene was outside waiting on us!!

DSC_0222

DSC_0223

We visited for a few minutes and then we got busy getting the RV all set up. After getting that done, we headed out to dinner with Kevin & Arlene…did a lot of visiting and then turned in for an early night.

DSC_0226

Tuesday we got up and around slowly…we were going to find a WalMart and a Kroger Grocery…Kevin & Arlene went along with us. We drove what seemed like forever and when we got to the WalMart that the GPS took us to it wasn’t a Super Center. But I could still exchange something I had bought in Sikeston. So with that done we were off to the Kroger for a few groceries.

We barely made it back to the RV in time to join the Heartland group for a pre-rally dinner and Caney Fish Camp Restaurant. This had been planned for a very long time and they were not ready for us…the food was just okay and the servers were slow in getting drink refills. They lost our tables order..go figure..so we were the last served and most everyone else was finished and leaving.

and then there were none…except us still trying to eat…LOL

We came back to the KOA and headed down to visit with Bill & Barb. They just got a new Big Country so she took Arlene & I for a tour. Very nice!! I really like the floor plan that she has.

DSC_0131

Wednesday morning Mac had to go and have his blood work done so he did a search on the laptop to find a Quest that he could go to. After he finished he came back to the RV to pick me up to go back to Kroger’s to get a few things that we forgot yesterday. I needed stuff to make a Dark Chocolate Raspberry Gooey Butter Cake for the Potluck on Thursday night and a few things for our the cookout we are having at our RV this afternoon with Kevin & Arlene and Bill & Barb.

We are going to a 50’s & 60’s Show here at the Park tonight…it should be really good.

Stay tuned to what happens tomorrow…

(((HUGS))) to everyone!!!
