We were up at what seemed to be Dawn-thirty this morning although it was actually 7am. We were going to be heading over to South Padre Island to go on a Dolphin Watching Cruise with some friends. Kevin & Arlene, Mark & Dortha, and Nolan & Donna all met at our RV at 8:30 so that we could make it to Pier 19 by 10:30am.
This is what it looked like outside when we left Mission…we were sure hoping that the fog would burn off before we got there…
Passing through Port Iasbel.
This is what we saw as we started across the Causeway…hmmm
And finally we arrived in South Padre..
The fog seems to have finally burned off, now on to find Pier 19.
OMG…look at this Shark…
and then we saw our boat…the Osprey
We checked in and gave them our order for lunch that would be served after the Cruise.
We saw some of these pelicans…
and some of these
and that was before we even got on the boat…lol
We boarded the boat and had barely taken off when we saw these….
Mother and baby…
We also saw this Jelly Fish…
and birds…
The Saint of Fishermen…
This is the E.W. Ellefsen out of New York..it is dredging the channel.
We passed a few Shrimp boats..
Pelican Island
and the Bridge opening so that we can go through…
They pulled in the net so we could look at some of the sea life
a baby Squid
not sure what this was…didn’t hear what he said
and then the Puffer Fish…I held that one!!!!
And this guy looking for some lunch..LOL
It was a great trip and now on to lunch!
There was a choice of Shrimp…
Fish…
or Chicken…no one chose the Chicken.
Soon it was time to head back home…
We passed some more water…
and then it was time to do a little shopping…we made our purchases and on the way back to the RV we passed by this unique Gift Shop…
We had another great day spent with friends…
Stay tuned…more adventures upcoming this week..lol
Hugs to all!!!
