We were up and out the door not too early…10:30 or so and headed over to Tony & Lisa’s RV. They were taking us on a tour of their part of TN…
We were inside visiting when Rebbie & Ben showed up with homemade cinnamon rolls for us!! Rebbie had made homemade rolls on Sunday for the party and I told her that they were wonderful and Lisa asked her to make some cinnamon rolls…I thought she was just teasing…but…they were amazing!!! She made half of them with nuts and half without…yummy!! Thank you so much Rebbie! While we were enjoying the rolls, we sat and visited. It was nice to meet this couple of friends of Lisa & Tony’s. I didn’t have my camera so didn’t get any photos of the rolls or Rebbie & Ben…
We were going to a Farm to get some fresh fruits and veggies first. After the farm, we headed out with Lisa driving. We checked out the area of the campground at Defeated Creek and we even checked out Salt Lick Campground. Defeated is a really nice campground. I’m sure that we will spend time there times while we are traveling through that area.
After the tour of the lake area, we just drove through the country. The landscape it really pretty here. I love all the hills and valleys…and I have an obsession with old barns and houses so you will see a lot of those in my next few posts..lol. We traveled through Gainesboro and crossed the river many times. Beautiful country.
We stopped in Cookeville for lunch at the Mandarin Palace…see everyone, I did know where we ate lunch..LOL. It was a huge buffet plus you could pick out all the things you liked and they would do a stir fry for you. I had a little of both…lol.
Cookeville is where Lisa attended college…
after we left Cookeville, we cut across country on 70N on our way back to Carthage, TN where Tony & Lisa live…actually , they live in South Carthage.
They live in a nice neighborhood and have a nice house.
Lisa uses a nice bridge for a shortcut to school, but the bridge has been closed for repairs…
We drove through town and looked around …then our last stop before heading back to the RV was to see the miniature horses…OMG…they are adorable, especially the baby…he actually has blue eyes!
After returning to the campground we saw several deer…this is my only wildlife photo of the trip…lol
