Tennessee, Tuesday, July 20th

We were up and no special plans made except to see a little more of the area. We headed over to Tony & Lisa’s to see if they had any suggestions. We were going to drive today.

We decided to go over to Dale Hollow Fish Hatchery and look around that area. I was going to see if I qualified for an Access Pass for Parks. I have a Handicap hanger for the truck because of nerve damage in my leg from a back surgery years ago…

Well with having my wallet card, I did qualify! I signed a couple of forms and walked out with my new card…we left there and just drove through more countryside talking about things that we could do while everyone is at Defeated in October. This is such pretty country, I could never get tired of looking around. But, it is really hot and humid…that I could do without…LOL.

We stopped in Celina at a little diner for lunch..it was really good! The best Coconut Cream Pie I have had in a long time. I was going to save it until the evening and have it for dinner, but sorry to say it never made it out of the parking lot…LOL.

We got back to the park and Mac & I needed to make a WalMart run. After that we visited with Tony & Lisa for a while then headed to the RV to start getting things ready for travel.

We have had such a great time here in TN with Tony & Lisa..and meeting Tez, their adopted son. He is such a nice and polite guy…he is getting ready to take his tests to go into the service and become a Marine. Also, little Rick…he is so cute and is on the go all the time…typical 3 year old. He sure tests Lisa’s patience sometimes..LOL.

Can’t wait to come back in October for a longer stay. I think we may have some day trips in store for all of us campers…

Stay tuned….

Tennessee Monday, July 19th

We were up and out the door not too early…10:30 or so and headed over to Tony & Lisa’s RV. They were taking us on a tour of their part of TN…

DSC_0252

We were inside visiting when Rebbie & Ben showed up with homemade cinnamon rolls for us!! Rebbie had made homemade rolls on Sunday for the party and I told her that they were wonderful and Lisa asked her to make some cinnamon rolls…I thought she was just teasing…but…they were amazing!!!  She made half of them with nuts and half without…yummy!! Thank you so much Rebbie! While we were enjoying the rolls, we sat and visited. It was nice to meet this couple of friends of Lisa & Tony’s. I didn’t have my camera so didn’t get any photos of the rolls or Rebbie & Ben…

We were going to a Farm to get some fresh fruits and veggies first. After the farm, we headed out with Lisa driving. We checked out the area of the campground at Defeated Creek and we even checked out Salt Lick Campground. Defeated is a really nice campground. I’m sure that we will spend time there times while we are traveling through that area.

After the tour of the lake area, we just drove through the country. The landscape it really pretty here. I love all the hills and valleys…and I have an obsession with old barns and houses so you will see a lot of those in my next few posts..lol. We traveled through Gainesboro and crossed the river many times. Beautiful country.

We stopped in Cookeville for lunch at the Mandarin Palace…see everyone, I did know where we ate lunch..LOL. It was a huge buffet plus you could pick out all the things you liked and they would do a stir fry for you. I had a little of both…lol.

We arrived at Defeated Creek about 3:00 and sent Lisa a message to let her know that we had arrived. Soon after, her and Tony arrived at our site to welcome us. We visited for about an hour before they had to take off to get ready for their son Rick’s 3rd birthday party.

DSC_0198

We went over to their site about 6pm for dinner and the party. There were several people there and we were introduced…I’m sure I will not remember all the names so I will just add some photos…

We visited for a while and then headed back to our site. Lisa came over later after Tony went to work and the boys were asleep and we visited for a long time before she headed back to her RV. We said our goodnights and went to bed because we have a day out planned for Monday. Lisa and Tony will be showing us around their little piece of heaven in TN.
