Busy, Busy, Busy

Our last several days have been so busy I just haven't had time to post anything.

We left on Wednesday headed to Kingman, Ks to watch Ryan play football and Jaden to play volleyball on Thursday.

We arrived at Kingman and it was cold and rainy again! We got set up and the kids and grandkids came to visit for a little while. We had a pretty early night since Thursday was going to be busy with Ryan and Jaden's games.

After the kid's games they came over to the RV for a warm bowl of chili and we visited for a while.

We headed out from Kingman about 10:30 am on Friday headed to Plains so that we could attend Britny's Homecoming. We watched her get ready at the Hair Salon!! She was a beautiful Queen Candidate! Here are a few photos of her:

Saturday we took off from Plains headed to Johnson, KS for Dakoda and Samantha's Volleyball Tourney. This was an all day event and they did a great job!

And of course we can't forget Jaelynn:

After the tourney was finished we went to Ulysses to eat at El Ranchito. Yummy! I love their enchiladas! We headed back to Plains and to the RV. I had told Britny that I would make a tile for her to give as a gift to her boyfriends parents. Her and Cody came over while I worked on it. Dana, Russell & Jaelynn were over also.

Sunday Mac, myself, Linda, Phil, and Dana headed to Lamar, CO to spend the day visiting with cousins since we missed the cousin reunion. It is a 3-1/2 hour drive from Plains to Lamar. We visited with Kenny & Marla for awhile and then headed out to Tom & Dot's for lunch with some of the other cousins.

We had a great time and then headed out again to go to Gary & Ann's. We watched football and had a great visit. We finally had to take off to head back to Plains at about 7:30pm. We let Dana out at her house and headed back to the RV to get some sleep since Monday was going to be a travel day to go as far as Joplin, MO. We are gonna visit the Downstream Casino & Resort just outside of Joplin on Tuesday so stay tuned....

Hugs to all!

Mac's Doctors Appointment & Clinton Lake

Yesterday afternoon we made a quick trip out to Clinton Lake after we got back from Kansas City. We had talked to Speedy about this COE Lake as a possibility for him and Sherri when they next come to Kansas. It was overcast and cold and windy so we didn't stay long. I did take a couple of photos yesterday but we had decided to go back today after Mac's doctor appointment.

Anyhow, Mac's appointment went great. We were extremely happy with the specialist. They used a camera and placed it down his throat so that they could see the vocal chords and watch the movement as he made a "eeee" noise. It was pretty cool to see the way it works. The growths looked fairly small to me, but what so I know...lol. the doctor seems to think that they are getting smaller on their own now that he has quit smoking so he doesn't want to do surgery right now. He will see him again in February to do another video and compare the differences. Now if they start growing or haven't changed in size, we're not sure what he will do then. But all in all, we were happy with the outcome and that gives Mac another reason to stay off the cigarettes.....YEAH!!

After the appointment we went and got us a breakfast sandwich at Spangles and then off so I could pick up a couple of beading things I needed at Michaels...I love that store!!!  LOL. then we headed to WalMart so that I could get a couple of seat cushions for the bleachers at the football game on Friday. My back hurts so bad after sitting on those bleachers for a whole game that I decided to get a couple of cushions.

When those chores were done, we headed back to Clinton Lake to take some more photos of the COE side of the lake. We really liked Cedar Ridge Campground! We didn't get to see Hickory or Walnut Campgrounds as they were already closed for the winter. Here are some of the photos from Cedar Ridge:

We then came home so I could do some laundry so it would all be done and not have to haul it in to the house tomorrow for our one night stay at home. I took a short nap and Mac spent most of his time visiting with Park guests & Workampers.

This is a great way to spend our time!!

We will be in Kingman on Thursday night and then on to Plains for Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.

Hugs to all!!!

NASCAR Weekend & New Kitchen Mods

We got up this morning and finished getting the things ready to put in the RV for the NASCAR weekend in Kansas City. We are staying at the Lawrence KOA. We have stayed there for the last 3 years and it is a short drive into KC to the track.

We left home about noon and arrived at the KOA about 1:30 and started setting up. Doesn't take long to get things outside set up but it does take a little while to get out all the knick-knacky things inside..lol

We are now waiting for Phil & Linda, and Jan and the boys to get here. They will arrive around 10:30 tonight as they are coming from western Kansas. It will be a wild weekend of racing, food & fun!!!

On Monday while we were in Olathe after having lunch with Paul & Mary we headed to Home Depot. Mac was going to add a shelf in the kitchen for me. When we ordered the 4 door refrigerator we lost our pantry and Mac put shelves in the small coat closet for canned goods but I needed a little more room for bread, chips, crackers and things like that. So he found what he was looking for and added a new shelf for me. WOW! It looks like it came from the factory that way!!!

Now I can set my dishes on the shelf while we are in one spot and use the cabinet for storage and then put them back while traveling...Nice Job Mac!

We will be headed to Kansas Speedway in the morning for the days activities and I will try to take some photos.

Stay turned for updates of our NASCAR weekend!!!

Hugs to all!

Meeting New Friends

We got home from Kingman on Sunday and have been busy ever since. We have several travel plans in the next 3 weeks.

Monday we headed to Olathe to have lunch with Paul & Mary...aka Boris & Natasha at the 54th Street Grill & Bar. What a great couple!!

Gregg Lynette Paul and Mary [800x600]

We had a wonderful lunch and great conversation. Seems like we have known them forever. Before we knew it, over 2 hours had passed. Still, that doesn't seem like enough time for us. They will be back in this area over the holiday's and we plan to catch up with them again while they are in the area.

Tomorrow we head to the Lawrence KOA for the weekend of racing and will stay over until Wednesday since Mac has his appointment with the Vocal Chord Specialist on Tuesday.

We will be home one night and then head back to Kingman on the 8th for Jaden's Volleyball game and Ryan's football game. Friday we will head farther west to Plains, Ks to go to Britny's Homecoming as she is a Queen Candidate. "Good Luck Brit"!!!

Monday, Oct. 12th has us leaving and heading east, making our way to Branson for the Heartland Owner's Rally over the weekend. We will be in Branson from Oct 14th - Oct 18th. When we leave Branson we will head north and east of Springfield, Mo to the RV Express Campground in Marshfield, Mo to spend some time with relatives that were at mom's memorial and some that couldn't make it.

We will be back home approximately October 22nd and may be able to spend a few days with Rollie & Gina at a campground somewhere while they are staying in Kansas for the month of October.

My sister will be back at our house the end of the month to finish up some legal stuff of mom's and to take some things that we put into storage for her.

Whew...we will be busy the next few weeks.

Everyone have a great week!

Hugs to all!!!
