Restful & Painful Week

It has been a very restful week. I went to the Podiatrist on Tuesday and he surgically removed my big toenail so I have had to be off my feet most of the week. It has been really painful this time.

Mac has had to pitch in and do the cooking and pretty much everything else while I sit with my foot elevated on a pillow...aaahhh...Honestly he has been great! Even when I whine that I am really hurting..lol

He has been making more lists of things he needs to do to the RV. I think that is an endless thing. I also have been working on lists of things that need to go in the RV eventually so I will know what I need to pack up to get rid of. I have a lot of kitchen stuff!! LOL

I have read books and watched TV until I could almost scream..also been on Facebook, YoVille, and Farm Town a lot. Been reading blogs, forums and lots of email..Whew...

Our granddaughter Natalie, came over to spend the afternoon on Thursday and wanted something to do, so I decided to look through my beading stuff..and before I knew it she had made her 3 pair of earrings and her sister 2 pair. And also she had made her friend Bailey 2 pair. I started going through things and I ended up making two necklaces with matching earrings. Below are the photos of the necklaces and earrings. Didn't get a photo of the earrings that Nat made. Maybe next time..

I have got some more ideas for a couple more necklaces and a couple of bracelets. I am going to make a few watchbands for one of my watches that I can interchange using little lobster claw closures on the ends. If and when I get those made, I will post photos of those too...

The painting of the trim on the outside of the house is coming right along. We will soon be ready for the main painting. Can't wait to get that finished. That's one more step closer to getting this place on the market.

I want to wish Mac a Happy Father's Day! He is such a great father to all of our kids!!!

Also, a Happy Father's Day to all the other Great Dad's out there!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to some dear friends, Phyllis & Bob, that are going through some tough medical issues right now, and also to a couple of friends that are going through some other tough times..we love ya!

Hugs to all!

Our Boring Life...

Today is Wednesday, June 1 7th. Wow this year is almost half over! It is really hard to believe that it has been six months since Mac retired!

Our life is just plain boring when we are not off somewhere in the RV. We are still trying to get things done to the house to get it ready to sell. The outside of the house is getting painted at least...slowly but surely.

We had big plans to get the shed cleaned out and stuff  hauled off on Tuesday.

SORE-TOE

That plan was put on hold after I went to the Podiatrist and he surgically removed my big toe nail once again! It had started hurting pretty bad in the last couple of weeks where the nail was growing out. It was to the point that I could only wear flipflops or sandals. I made the appointment so that we could schedule a time to have it done...but he said that he would not be back in town for 3 weeks and did not want to wait that long to remove it and let it get infected. So, off it came...uugghh!! It has bled more and has been more painful this time. Maybe that is due to all the medication he had to use to kill the roots. Hopefully it will not come back! I am really tired of the problems this has caused. I had back surgery about  15 years ago and have some nerve damage in my right leg and foot. That is why I have had so much trouble with the toe. So now this time I should not have to worry about it anymore..YEAH!

Ok, now to more pleasant things. We had planned to go to The Gypsy Journal Rally the last of September, but had forgotten that we already had NASCAR tickets for the Kansas City race and paid reservations for camping. Mac's sister and husband will be there also. Maybe we can make it to the Gypsy Journal Rally next fall. We will miss seeing our friends, Bob & Molly and Keith & Donna.

Molly has been talking to us about going to Mexico with them in February with "The Mexican Connection" but not sure if we will be able to go yet. Mac got a call the other day about doing some Inspection work, probably on a job in Wyoming & Montana, so we will just have to see how it works out.

We have had rain, rain, and more rain!! The humidity is horrible! Monday night the thunder and lightning was really bad and we ended up leaving chat and shutting down our laptops. There was very high winds and it split one of our trees in the front yard in half. So now we will have to cut the rest of it down.

I am making more lists, trying to figure out what we need to keep and what to get rid of...this is harder that you would think. I want to make the RV as homey as possible if I am going to be living in it, but trying not to put too much stuff in it...I will probably make my piles, and then sort it again many times to keep less and less. I also am sorting through all my craft things. I am trying to decide which ones I can keep and what to get rid of. I think my beading & jewelry stuff is a keeper, and also my vinyl letter cutter & vinyl . The rest I will sell or give to my grandkids. I need to buy a couple of tubs and put that stuff in them so that I can see how much space they will take up. I think I have enough room to keep them in the bottom of my closet in the bedroom.

Also, I am downsizing our DVD collection. Dee (one of my RV-Dreams friends) gave me a suggestion to put them into CD notebooks so that we can take them, but not use up too much space. I have purchased a case, so now I just need to start going through them to decide on the ones I can't live without..lol. Then I want to sort them alphabetically so they will be easy to find when I am looking for one...

Well, hopefully I have not just rambled on and on too much today. Just wanted to let everyone know that we are still here and slowly working toward our goal to get in to the RV.

I don't have any photos to share with you this time so I will just leave you with a quote...

Mac retired in December 2008 after working for a Gas Company for 31 years. One of these days we will be making another move...into our RV to travel and enjoy our retirement. It seems like it has taken a long time for us to reach this point in our life.

Back Home to the Real World

Redneck_rv2

Well today is Tuesday and we are definitely back in the real world..at least the current real world...lol. I had to be at work this morning by 8am and we had a very busy day. Tomorrow looks to be worse!..ugghh. Now I know why I enjoyed being away. No work, no pressure, and no schedules.

Mac got the yard mowed before the rain hit. It rained really hard this afternoon for quite a while.

I got home from work and Mac cooked some steaks on the grill and I made baked potatoes and salad.

Sat. is Mac's birthday...woohoo!!!

the Big 6 - 0 and I would like to do something special for him but don't know what yet...maybe just a party in the chat room..lol.

Now I am just gonna sit back and watch some TV and maybe jump on chat for a while...

Have a great evening!

Monday June 1st Traveling Home

Sunset over Campground

We didn't rush to get up this morning. Mac got up about 8am and I waited until 8:30. We started getting things ready to travel. Mac ran to get fuel and came home with drinks for us from Sonic. Nice guy!

We forgot that we had left the small inverter for the laptop in the car so we ran to WalMart to get another one and Mac needed new some gloves to empty the black tank. Yuck!

We got back to the RV and finished getting things done. One of the couples that Mac had towed out of the mud the other day stopped by to make sure that we would be able to get out.  We thought that was really nice of him.

We pulled out of Sedalia about 1:30 headed home. I am writing this as we travel down the highway. Love this aircard!! No photos today unless I see something exciting on the road...lol.

The aircard worked pretty good. It kept losing its signal and disconnecting me. Not sure what that is all about except for all the trees maybe. Anyhow I used it most of the way home and played games offline the rest of the time.

We made it home about 4:30 and started unpacking the RV of things that needed to go inside. I will be so glad when I don't have to pack and unpack every time we want to go somewhere! Someday....

Didn't see anything special to take photos of so no photos today.

We are cooking some Hot Links for supper and then I have to get my stuff ready for work tomorrow...uugghh. I always hate the first day back to work after being gone.

Hugs!
