A Little Painting, a Little Packing...

We got up this morning and headed over to the house about 10:30 this morning to try to get a little more done on the house.

I got several things sorted and boxes packed. Mac on the other hand did a little painting...

and I had to take the photos...LOL. But I did get some things accomplished today and will be hard at it again tomorrow! We have packed boxes stacked all over the house....I am so glad that we are staying in the RV so I don't have to live with that mess.

I will take more photos tomorrow!

One thing that I have finally figured out is that staying in the RV like we have been is that we don't need much more in the RV. So I have been very picky about what I am keeping. We are storing some things so we are keeping some clothes, furniture, Christmas stuff, tools, and etc. We plan on eventually building a shed somewhere and maybe finishing part of it into a small apartment.

Our daughter Chris, that lives in Amarillo has invited us to spend Thanksgiving with them this year, but we will have to see how our progress goes on the house, and we take our RV to the dealer on Nov 10th to have some warranty work done and not sure how long it will be there. So we will just have to wait and see.

I sent a text to one of our other daughters, Teri, and told her that she needed to come and get their stuff soon! Hopefully I will hear back from her quickly to let us know when they are coming.

Well, I better finish this so that I can go to bed and be up and ready to work again tomorrow!

Hugs to all!!

Leaving Salina and Rain

I told Mac today that if anyone needed rain that all they would need to do is invite us to visit. It seems to follow us wherever we go...lol

Mac took the truck to have it serviced this morning before leaving Salina. He thought that he smelled something hot the other day on our way to Salina and decided that he would have it checked out before we headed back home.

We were going to stop at the RV Wash before leaving town but it started raining right as we were leaving....LOL...it figures.

The trip was pretty uneventful.

We stopped in Paxico, KS at the  Wyldewood Cellars Winery for some Wine tasting and to get a bottle of Elderberry Concentrate. Elderberry Concentrate is a natural source of Rutin and Vitamin C--antioxidants, Quercitin--antiinflamitory and antihistamine, Bioflavanoids--antiviral and antidiabetic, and supports the immune system.

We also bought a bottle of Spiced Wine and some Cherry Jelly and some Sugar-Free Home made Fudge.

Here are a few photos of our view out of the windshield today...

We arrived in Garnett about 4:30 and got checked in and the RV all set up.

Our site at the Garnett Inn Suites & RV Park. we are staying here using our Passport America membership so it is only costing us 12.00 + tax for as many days as we want to stay. Not bad!!

and last but not least...a Garnett, KS Sunset.

We headed over to the house to see the painting progress. It still needs some painting done, but hopefully it will be done soon. The weather is supposed to be nice the next several days with highs ranging from 60* tomorrow to 78* on Saturday. We should be able to get a lot of things accomplished!

Well stay tuned to see our progress over the next few weeks...

Hugs to all!!!

Salina State Volleyball Tournament

We left Garnett Thursday about noon headed west toward Salina, Ks. We had planned to leave at 10:00 but that just didn't happen...lol

It was raining and dreary looking when we pulled out of town and rained or misted all the way to Salina. We don't like traveling when it is raining, but it sure does slow Mac down!

We arrived at the Salina KOA about 3:15 and got checked in and the RV set up. It had stopped raining right as we pulled into Salina.

Dana called and told us the hotel and room number that they were in so we headed over there with a stop at Walmart on the way. We visited for a while and then we all decided to go out for dinner. We went next door to Logan's Steakhouse. There were 9 of us plus 3 little ones. Mac's ex and Kathy Wilson joined us. We had a great visit and good food! And when it was all done, we found out that Linda(Mac's ex) had paid for all of our dinners! Thanks again Linda!

Friday morning we were up early, (6am Deb), showered, dressed and headed to the Bicentennial Center for Team Introductions.

Britny played her first set at 8:30. They won the 2 sets against Frontenac and then were supposed to play again at 10:30. They ended up winning 2 of those sets with Atchinson and were to play again at 12:30. They didn't get started on that one until about 1:30 and lost 2 of those sets to Central Heights so they would play on Saturday at 10am.

We bowed out of dinner at Red Lobster on Friday night and just hung out at the RV.

Saturday morning we were up and out of the RV by 9:30 to get to Bicentennial Center for the 10am game. These sets were for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. We won the 1st set against Central Heights, lost the second set, and then won the 3rd set to take 3rd in the Kansas 3A State Volleyball Tournament. Congratulations Britny and all of the Lady Mustangs!! Britny, we are so proud of you and so glad that we could share this experience with you!

Dana and Russell followed us to the RV as he had done some legal work for me. He gave me the documents that he had prepared and explained what I needed to do with them. Thanks so much for doing this Russell...I appreciate it so much! (It's great having an Attorney for a son-in-law)

We have decided to stay here in Salina Sunday night and try to get the truck serviced on Monday. Mac thought he smelled something hot. He thought it might be rear end grease? So we will have that checked out tomorrow and then head back to Garnett and get the RV parked at the RV Park for a few days while we tear the house apart packing and hauling stuff off to storage.

Then we have to get the other stuff ready for an auction. I need to call the realtor to ask a few more questions on what we need to do.

We hope everyone had a Happy & Safe Halloween!

Hugs to everyone!
