Visiting the RV Dealer

Snow 112908 leaving moms

Snowing as we leave mom's house

On Saturday we left home on our way to Chetopa RV Center in Chetopa, KS. It took us about 2 hours to get there. They don't have an Augusta on the lot but we still wanted to go and meet with the dealer in person so that we could get a feel for him. He is very knowledgeable about the RV's and tow vehicles. We learned a lot regarding several things we had on our list.

We will be ordering a new 2010 Landmark Augusta probably next weekend. The dealer is going to the National RV Show in Louisville, Kentucky the first of next week so we wanted to wait and see what the new changes are going to be. We read on the Heartland site that they will be making 2 major changes so we want to know what those will be before we order.

Pulling in to Chetopa RV

The dealer gave us a great price on the 5th wheel with all the options that we want. WooHoo!!! Can't wait. We need to get it ordered soon so that it will be here in plenty of time for our trip to Kerrville the first of March. The dealer said that after the RV show there are usually tons of orders from dealers for stock in their lots. He said that since our order would be considered a customer sale that it would be made before the stock orders.

I have a poll for our friends and readers...which color scheme do you like best: the first is called Harvest and it is a darker and richer color.

and the second is called Slate and it is a lighter and more fancier one...

We need to decide on the color scheme. I like them both but the slate seems to just fade into the carpet and walls. The Harvest is darker and seems to stand out more and show the rich colors..Please HELP..we need to make the decision before next weekend.

Now we have to decide for sure what hitch we want. We have researched several and thought we had our mind made up, but now are reading more and checking forums to get some input. Also, I need to start making my lists on things that need to go into it..kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, basement...have to make sure that I have enough room for my shoes!! lol and my vinyl lettering supplies. Oh yea, and Mac's stuff.

I finally got our TT put on Craig's List this morning so hope it sells soon.

Here are some more photos of the Bobcat...

Wish us luck!!!

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away...

I like both colors also but think the darker one would probably be more practical.
Good luck with your sale.
I'm just so excited for you..

I'm so excited for you guys! My vote is for the lighter color, experience is with darker shows dust and it's depressing when it's dark and gloomy out. It's your choice though. Everyone has an opinion. lol
Good luck!!!

You asked the wrong person here, as I do, not like dark brown, I think it is depressing. The couch can be anything you want it to be, as I expect that, as it is new, you will want to put a throw on it to protect it. Happy Trails, Penny, TX

Oh, as for the hitch, I'd go for an air ride hitch. See what they say on the 5er forums on rvnet.com
It is supposed to make the world of difference. Penny, TX

They are both pretty...I go for the darker, but that is my taste. However, you are the ones that have to live in it...use your own quote....

Which one takes YOUR breath away!!

Dortha
