Mexico, Cookout, Dryer Problems, Potlucks, and Heartland Luncheon

Friday we made a trip to Mexico with some friends…Medicine for some, and Alcohol for others, and jewelry…lol. We also had a a nice lunch at Arturo's again. The line going back to the US was so long that it took us almost an hour to get back to the truck…whew…

Saturday we had a planned cookout at our RV. Everyone brought their own type of meat and a side dish. We had a great meal even though we thought maybe Mac was trying to burn down our Canopy…lol

Sunday, Valentine’s Day…Mac and I just hung out at home. He grilled a couple of steaks and I made baked potatoes. It was a very quiet day.

Monday, was laundry day…I was not feeling very good so Mac took on the job of doing laundry…He barely got it all done when the dryer quit. Thank goodness it is still under warranty until this Friday. After a few phone calls we have a service tech coming to work on it Friday morning. Hopefully it will be an easy fix. We have also found a few other things that need to be worked on under warranty, so we made a list and will call the dealer to have them fixed when we get back home.

Tuesday, we had plans for a Potluck/Happy Hour with a group of our Heartland family at Retama Village. Kathy Adams and I had worked on setting this up and we had a great turn out.

 We had a nice dinner…

and Mike,  the owner of The Bentsen Palms Development gave us a view of what is being done in the area..it is amazing.

After dinner, several of us took a walk to look at some of the Casitas on the RV lots, and then went over to Jim Beletti’s new 2011 Landmark Grand Canyon for a tour. It is a very nice RV. Jim is employed by Heartland and is the Director of Owner Interests…I think that is his title. He is supplied with a demo coach every two years…must be nice..lol

And a nice finish to another great day…

Wednesday, a few of us made another trip to the Don Wes Flea Market. Mark & Dortha rode with us and Nolan & Donna rode with Kevin & Arlene. I needed to exchange a bracelet and wanted to get another fresh Pineapple. We all made a few purchases and then headed out to Jason’s Deli for some lunch. After lunch Mac & I suggested that we go over and see if Paul & Mary were home. They had arrived on Monday and we hadn’t seen them yet. As it turned out, they weren’t home. Funny thing was…they were at our RV at the same time looking for us…LOL

Thursday, we all had plans to go to Ron Hoover RV for a Heartland Luncheon. They served Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Chips and Sodas. We looked at the new models of Heartland RV’s. There are several changes in the new ones this year but we aren’t in the market.

After lunch they had drawings for door prizes. We won a $25.00 Wal-Mart Gift card and Kevin & Arlene won a $25.00 Gift Certificate to Ron Hoover’s.

After the Luncheon we let the guys all ride home together while we ladies headed for a little shopping at Michael’s and then on to Bed Bath & Beyond. We ended our shopping trip with a stop at Olive Garden for Dessert & Iced Tea.

Now we are at home and just watching some TV. We will wait for the Dryer repairman in the morning, so will update you on the outcome of that. And Saturday we will be attending a Happy Hour at Kevin & Arlene’s.

Hugs to all!!
