On The Road to Sedalia

We left Garnett about 4:30 on Friday on the way to Sedalia and the Escapees Escapade. We arrived at Lee's Summit, Missouri's WalMart about 6:30pm. We went in and bought some groceries for the week and then went back to the RV. Mac walked over to Arby's and got us a sandwich for supper. Here is our site in Lee's Summit...lol

We were up and on the road by 6:30am on Saturday morning.

It was only 65 miles to Sedalia and we made it to the State Fair Grounds about 7:40am. Yes Deb, in the morning...lol. They guided us to the holding area because they don't start parking until 8am. Mac got our to take a photo and had to run back cause they started moving us while he was taking photos...lol. That is us in the back of the first row. We were 6th in line to be parked.

It took a while to get through registration and then had to convince the people that park you that we were to be parked with the heartland Group and that there was a spot for us. We finally got parked and set up.Heartland Group McHenrys

Here are some photos of the others in the Heartland Group.

It was a great time and the party broke up pretty early. We started to the RV and ended up stopping at the Heartland Group for some visiting and a Margarita..sorry no photos of this. Next time...

On Sunday, we made a run to the grocery store and to KMart for a few supplies. When we got back we barely had time to make it to the "First Timers" program. Directly after that was the "Opening Ceremony". They gave away tons of door prizes.

We left there and were on our way to Golden Corral to meet up with Keith & Donna, Bob & Molly, and more of the Class of 2007 for dinner.

Saturday dinner2

After dinner we headed back to the campground to get ready for the 7:15pm drawings for more Door Prizes and the nightly Entertainment.

Keith had a new date for the drawing...

Mac's name was actually drawn for one of the door prize packages. In it was a Coupon for one meal at Denny's and one meal at a Chinese Buffet. Also, some Chemical for the toilet and a Mat for the RV..

So that has gotten everyone up to date. I will try to update this more often so that it doesn't take me so long...lol

Tomorrow we are off for more drawings and seminars, and more trips to the Marketplace.

Have a great weekend and please take a moment to remember all the service men and women that are risking their lives, and the ones that we have lost, so that we can have the freedom that we have.
