Salina State Volleyball Tournament

We left Garnett Thursday about noon headed west toward Salina, Ks. We had planned to leave at 10:00 but that just didn't happen...lol

It was raining and dreary looking when we pulled out of town and rained or misted all the way to Salina. We don't like traveling when it is raining, but it sure does slow Mac down!

Sure looks like storms up ahead...

We arrived at the Salina KOA about 3:15 and got checked in and the RV set up. It had stopped raining right as we pulled into Salina.

Dana called and told us the hotel and room number that they were in so we headed over there with a stop at Walmart on the way. We visited for a while and then we all decided to go out for dinner. We went next door to Logan's Steakhouse. There were 9 of us plus 3 little ones. Mac's ex and Kathy Wilson joined us. We had a great visit and good food! And when it was all done, we found out that Linda(Mac's ex) had paid for all of our dinners! Thanks again Linda!

Friday morning we were up early, (6am Deb), showered, dressed and headed to the Bicentennial Center for Team Introductions.

Britny played her first set at 8:30. They won the 2 sets against Frontenac and then were supposed to play again at 10:30. They ended up winning 2 of those sets with Atchinson and were to play again at 12:30. They didn't get started on that one until about 1:30 and lost 2 of those sets to Central Heights so they would play on Saturday at 10am.

We bowed out of dinner at Red Lobster on Friday night and just hung out at the RV.

Saturday morning we were up and out of the RV by 9:30 to get to Bicentennial Center for the 10am game. These sets were for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. We won the 1st set against Central Heights, lost the second set, and then won the 3rd set to take 3rd in the Kansas 3A State Volleyball Tournament. Congratulations Britny and all of the Lady Mustangs!! Britny, we are so proud of you and so glad that we could share this experience with you!

Dana and Russell followed us to the RV as he had done some legal work for me. He gave me the documents that he had prepared and explained what I needed to do with them. Thanks so much for doing this Russell...I appreciate it so much! (It's great having an Attorney for a son-in-law)

We have decided to stay here in Salina Sunday night and try to get the truck serviced on Monday. Mac thought he smelled something hot. He thought it might be rear end grease? So we will have that checked out tomorrow and then head back to Garnett and get the RV parked at the RV Park for a few days while we tear the house apart packing and hauling stuff off to storage.

Then we have to get the other stuff ready for an auction. I need to call the realtor to ask a few more questions on what we need to do.

We hope everyone had a Happy & Safe Halloween!

Hugs to everyone!
